Welcome back, quality listeners, to another episode of Hot Seat Cool Drum. We have me, Wesley, Luca, and Sam. Okay, Sam, would you like to start yes at your hot seat? My hot seat is probably just the bagel breakfast at school. Yeah. The bagel breakfast? It sucks. I've never had like hard. Yeah, why'd they even add it? Like no one doesn't it have like raisins in it? Yeah, like like the school lunch cookie. It's just like insanely hard. Like when you slam on the table. Wait, wouldn't it just be like good with like butter and a normal bagel without raisins? No, cream cheese. Or cream cheese, yeah. Like on it. I'm a struggle. Alright, Luca, what's your hot sea? It's raisin canes. What? It's okay. It's awful. How? Their chicken is bad. The bread is relicient. Bread is okay. I like the cane. And the cane's sauce is awful. I would like to. Okay, that's almost the best part. No, the worst part. No, the best part is soggy. The best part is that their chicken is the fries. That is the chicken, then it's the cane's sauce. So I like the chicken, but I feel like the fries are soggy, and then the Texas toast is just amazing. Yeah. The Texas toast is really good. Okay. My hot seat is the basketball courts at school. Yes. Like especially. No, one pole that has like closest to the tree. No, that one pole in the center of the basketball courts that has a bunch of cuss words on it. Like and then like the one cl the basketball courts closest to the trees. Like, dude, the one is just a square. And then there's a metal metal hoop. It's and then the it should be. Like the one that the one that's just round. Yeah. It has to like round it and like my hot seat is corn.
SPEAKER_05Wesley! You're lame!
SPEAKER_04Is it is it Wesley? That's not Wesley. Yep. Why I I wonder what I do. I agree with Gunner. Okay. Gunner. Okay, it's Wesley. My cool throne is Miss Weaver. She's the best teacher. Yes! She's the best. I agree with that. Yes, she's the best teacher. I'm over here, Miss Weaver in any. No, I no, my my I probably should not be talking about it. Never mind. Okay, Wesley, what is your cool throne? My cool throne is recess. Because next year we're not gonna have it in the We're just gonna move. We only have eight more days again. How do you feel about that? Eight more days of recess. Unless you went to like Oak Firms. Who gave Gunner board? Who's gonna go for Oak Firm? No one. Um my cool throne is probably gonna be third grade. Third grade? Third grade is amazing. Especially the Tony. The T Party that he had party was awesome. That was amazing. And it's like uh not like the fifth grade and fourth grade, second, first firm. Third grade was the fifth grade play? Yeah, our f like the fifth grade musical. It was not that good. Like I feel it it felt shorter than it was supposed to be. Yeah, I think it was okay. Okay, your part was amazing. My my cool throne is Chick-fil-a. I don't like Chick-fil-A sauce. It's it's only it's not open on Sundays. And the only time Chick-fil-A. And the only time I ever want Chick-fil-A is on Sundays. I don't like the reason why. Yeah, I don't I only like the Polynesian sauce. It kind of takes like uh like barbecue sauce. What what does Chick-fil-A sauce? I like the Chick-fil-a fries. Chick-fil-A sauce is my favorite sauce. No Polynesian is better. Ketchup. You've never had it. Ketchup. Yeah, ketchup. No, but like the reason it's my cool the reason it's my cool throne is because the mac and cheese is really good. I've never had three. And the chicken nuggets in the chicken sandings. The chicken are amazing. The waffle fries are really good too. The mac and cheese is so good. Hear me out. Mayonnaise and fries. Okay. People don't like me for this. No, guys. No. People don't like it. Who gave me for mayonnaise and fries? People don't like me for this. I don't like mac and cheese. You don't like mac and cheese? I don't like mac and cheese.

What were the top trends, the top jokes? What were some of the things that like signify a fifth grade world your guys' time in elementary school? Yes, Caden. Probably me. No, it's a Mount Rhmore. No, you get a Mount Rushmore, you gotta share it.
SPEAKER_02You gotta think. No talkies.
SPEAKER_05Alright. Okay. So Andrew, I'm gonna let you go first. What would be your first pick of fifth grade shenanigans?
SPEAKER_03What do you mean by shenanigans? So like trend or something.
SPEAKER_05What was a trend or something that happened in fifth grade?
SPEAKER_03Something really funny.
SPEAKER_05That was just like this, this signifies.
SPEAKER_03It's gotta be something. Six seven was horrible. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_04So that's your pick.
SPEAKER_03No, that was that was more Was that more end of fourth grade?
SPEAKER_05I would say it started. It was more this starts.
SPEAKER_03But people said it more this year.
SPEAKER_05Oh, yeah, Caden, your first pick of trends or shenanigans in fifth grade.
SPEAKER_00Whenever like some whenever like somebody's mad, literally, I just do this. Okay. So you just make it like so.
SPEAKER_05So the trend that you went with or shenanigans, you just giving them a thumbs up.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Thumbs up for you.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Alright, Ben.
SPEAKER_05Ben it, Ben it, what was a trend this year shenanigans on your Mount Rush more?
SPEAKER_02Mmm. It started pretty recently.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02And I was messing around like behind the camera while you weren't recording, and you're like, you were this close. Oh yeah. What did I do? You were like this close. Oh, I was messing around and you're like, stare at me, you're like, you're like this close.
SPEAKER_01This close. Why did I did this? You're this close.
SPEAKER_05What do you this close to what?
SPEAKER_01To like I don't know, you said that! I know, I know, every time I'm shenanigating. Behind the camera, Caden's like, You're this close. Did I realize you? You're this close. You're this close. I don't remember even saying that. You can ask everybody else. Nolan, didn't he do that? I don't know. Yeah, I don't remember him doing that.
SPEAKER_00I did?
SPEAKER_05I definitely don't remember that. Superman Chris said I did do it. Alright, Andrew, what's your next trend that happened in fifth grade? Oh, it's my turn. I get two. No, we're gonna go this way then.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Bennett. Um I don't have one.
SPEAKER_05No other trends?
SPEAKER_03Nope.
SPEAKER_05Alright, did you have one, Caden? Trans or something? Well, we can just list the cool things that happened. Probably scrap wreck. You don't want to do Thanos Basketball. Oh yeah. That. Thanos basketball thing was probably my favorite. No, we're not gonna have a stabduce during this game because we want Mr. Hagbush to get hurt again.
SPEAKER_00How about you just include the game? Talking to Mike. Talking to Mike. How about you just include him out of the game?
SPEAKER_05Exclude him. Alright, Baby Betty, do you have anything else before you get into it? Go ahead.
SPEAKER_02One really funny thing that happened. I already said that.
SPEAKER_05Cereal. Cereal pod was probably a highlight for everybody. Bro.
SPEAKER_03There's still cereal on the floor. Yeah. That was so fun.
SPEAKER_05That was bad.
SPEAKER_03I got to do my ASMR.
SPEAKER_05The funniest thing that you guys did in this group, I would have to say, was the Ben eating cereal, like and trying to ASMR, but it was so bad for like the sound got ruined. I'm gonna also at and then what was the podcast we did where someone forgot to hit record?
SPEAKER_04Oh my god. Three times in a row! That was that was Mount Rushmore.
SPEAKER_05I thought it was. That was first attempt at Mount Rushmore. We had like we had cooked on like five of us.
SPEAKER_03We got it. But the mics were not. And then next time, the camera wasn't on. We didn't turn the city.
SPEAKER_05It was Caden. Caden didn't turn the camera on.
SPEAKER_03No, I was so mad because our second try, it was like the worst one in the first turn. We made blooper videos. And you added script for the second trick.
SPEAKER_04For Was it work news? Literally, almost every single time we did it, you said, I'm gonna add a blooper segment.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, but the blooper segment was like one kid. It was usually just you because you forgot your lines. Oh, that's the same. So it wouldn't have been funny. Ma'am, it's kind of sad. I mean, I was just trying, it wouldn't have been that funny. Alright. Make sure you give us down in the comments your favorite Wiser Park news segment or uh quality podcast segment. And we four shenanigans. We will we will read them this summer.
SPEAKER_00Thumbs up. Thumbs up.
SPEAKER_05Hit the button. There we go. Alright, we have a new segment for our last show here. We're kind of just throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks. It's called Explain It to Mr. Martone. I'm gonna ask Sam who's behind the board, Dustin, and Luca some questions. I want you to explain it to me because there's some things in this fifth grade world that I just don't understand. So thank you guys for helping me understand. Okay, my first question.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_05What is a Nido Cube?
SPEAKER_04Uh I will.
SPEAKER_05Okay, go ahead.
SPEAKER_04It is a fidget toy. It's like a squishy. Like a squishy too. Yeah. It's a squishy. It's like a squishy.
SPEAKER_05But why does everybody want them?
SPEAKER_04Because they're very popular. I I have one that helps me when I'm stretched.
SPEAKER_05Okay, so I so people were paying f I it's just it's literally just a squishy toy. That's all it is. Yeah. Does it like do something?
SPEAKER_04It no, it's just a squishy. Yeah. I mean, like, there's some rare ones like Dr. Pepper. Yeah, there's a Dr. Pepper.
SPEAKER_05So So like it's just a squishy.
SPEAKER_04Yes, that's literally all it is. It's just all literally what it is is just a squishy. But it can be like this is like fucking the mic. This is like the fidget era. It can be like different shapes and sizes. They have rare ones like Dr. Pepper.
SPEAKER_05Those are like $150. If not more. $150 for something that's squishy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh my god. Alright. Okay, Needo Cube, ridiculous. Alright. Okay, I this has been said to me even like when I was back as a classroom teacher. And I've waited so long to say this and I just don't get it.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_05Can you just give me a general explain of what Roblox is?
SPEAKER_04Okay, yeah, I can. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_05Like Sam, explain to me what Roblox is. Turn the camera to Sam because he's gonna explain it to me.
SPEAKER_04It's a game that has a bunch of games in it.
SPEAKER_05Okay, stop right there, because this is where I get confused. Because kids talk about So it's a game.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_05But then there's other games inside the game.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's games. It's like you click on a game, you press play, and then you can play. It's like Fortnite. It's like a game. There's different game modes. You can play. So no, Roblox is an app, and then on the app there are g other games in the app. In the app.
SPEAKER_05And but why do kids like it so much?
SPEAKER_04Because there's like so many games. There's so many games.
SPEAKER_05But don't you guys like do any of you guys play like sports games anymore? Uh yeah, I do. Like football or FIFA or there are sports games.
SPEAKER_03Madden. I play FC. I play Madden Technoble.
SPEAKER_05Okay. But like I feel like the younger kids all they talk about is these Roblox things, and I just don't understand what it is. What is so is Fortnite different?
SPEAKER_04Uh yeah. Yes, it's different.
SPEAKER_05I thought Fortnite was like Call of Duty.
SPEAKER_04Close, but like there's different games. It's like Battle Royale. Like Battle Royale is close. It's just a shooting game, basically. It's a shooting game. But then there's also like I'm getting old.
SPEAKER_05I really don't get it.
SPEAKER_04I don't even play Fortnite. I same here. I'll play it every once and really play. Alright, okay.
SPEAKER_05So Okay. Okay, so we've got Roblox, we got Nido Cubes. What what happened to uh the Laboo Boo? Oh are they gone?
SPEAKER_04Those things are creepy. I do. Oh, that's that trend is over? No, it's over.
SPEAKER_05I feel like I just got into it.
SPEAKER_04Every time I look at one, I'm like, what what were they? They were like they're usually I've seen them everywhere on YouTube, and it's been annoying.
SPEAKER_05I heard from somebody that Pokemon cards are back.
SPEAKER_04Uh no. Not even in clash. Maybe sports cards are back.
SPEAKER_05Is that what people say? Rip in packs? Like sports cards?
SPEAKER_04I've seen videos of every time you laugh, rip a Pokemon card.
SPEAKER_05Why would you rip a Pokemon card?
SPEAKER_03On YouTube. On YouTube, people people on YouTube just do that. Okay. Do that. Pokemon cards.
SPEAKER_05What do you here's another thing. What do you wa like? So let's say y'all three, here's a question I'm for you. You go home. Okay? You get all your homework done, get a snack, whatever. What are you watching? Like, what are you consuming? Like what media are you consuming? Luca, what are you watching?
SPEAKER_04Uh mainly when I get home, I play like Madden.
SPEAKER_05Okay, so you're you're playing a video game. Yeah. Alright, Dustin, what about you?
SPEAKER_04Play a video game or watch TV.
SPEAKER_05Okay. Sam.
SPEAKER_04When I get home and just have a snack, I usually watch a show or a movie.
SPEAKER_05Like what shows are you guys watching? Like what's a TV show you watch? Or like is it something on what do you watch? Like I just I watch YouTube. But like what? What on YouTube? Uh sports cards. It's like sports cards, like people opening sports cards. And things. Do you know that you could like get your own sports cards? Yeah, but that's expensive.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but it's really expensive.
SPEAKER_05So you just watch other people do it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. And it's like the same reaction and stuff. Like it does the same thing. Like I have like some decent, expensive sports cards.
SPEAKER_05Why are you talking so quiet?
SPEAKER_04Because I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_05Okay, so like this is what I understand. Like, I grew up with like going and getting a pack of sports cards, opening it and being like, oh, check it out. LeBron James rookie. You guys are just watching other people do it. I have a Kobe rookie. Okay, cool. Tell people about that. That's cool. Alright, what about you? Me? No, the other Dustin. Yeah, you.
SPEAKER_03I don't really know.
SPEAKER_05You don't really know what you watch on TV?
SPEAKER_04Oh, what I watch on TV mostly mostly what I watch on TV is just YouTube.
SPEAKER_05But like what? Like I just don't you guys ever say, ooh, I just watch YouTube. What? What are you watching?
SPEAKER_04They may other kids probably just scroll through shorts and watch random things.
SPEAKER_05I don't like so you don't like none of you like sit and like watch a movie. I do. I do. Like which other movie you like? I'm just curious.
SPEAKER_04Oh I watch these things on YouTube TV. They're called 30v30s.
SPEAKER_05So they're like, 30 for 30 on Eastern Docs are cool. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Mostly I watch like I I like to watch what I like watch, but I can barely watch what I watch because usually my little sister makes no sense. My little sister and little brother usually use the home TV in the living room the whole time, so I barely get to watch what I like to watch.
unknownOkay Sam?
SPEAKER_04Did anybody understand?
SPEAKER_05Alright, Sam.
SPEAKER_04Um like the movies I watch are like Harry Potter. Oh, my mom loves Harry Potter. She really does.
SPEAKER_05But like you guys like watch like like have you been to like the movies? Yeah. Like in recently. Like what's a movie you went to go see? Super Mario Go to the Super Mario Galaxy.
SPEAKER_04Like Hail Mary.
SPEAKER_05Hail Mary? Wow.
SPEAKER_04It was pretty project Hail Mary. It was pretty.
SPEAKER_05Oh, that's a good like. Okay. Alright. I'm just fascinated by your current work.
